PREP - Parish Religious Education/Family Catechesis Classes Grades 1-8

Our Parish Religious Education Program welcomes all students in Grades 1-8 who are not attending a Catholic school or receiving religious education at home. We are using a Faith Formation Program called "A Family of Faith". Our vision is to build strong Catholic families where children learn the joys of following Jesus, and the truths of their Faith through the witness of Christ's life given by their parents and faith community. Families attend class on the first and third Sundays of the month from 6:00-7:30 pm September through April. Classes are designed to assist the parents in educating their children in the Catholic faith. Students in grade 2 receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. Students in grade 8 receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. There are sessions for both parents and students regarding the Sacraments, as well as retreats for the students. Our preparation for Sacraments is a two year process, so students are required to have attended a religious education program for both 1st and 7th grades prior to receiving the Sacraments in 2nd and 8th grade. Please contact Laura Brown at lbrown@htassumption.org or 419-644-4014 for further details.
